A certified coding and compliance specialist, Missy Stimler brings over 25 years of health care management experience to Medical Management Resources. Her key responsibilities at MMR include planning and directing our coding and consulting department operations, new business development, and overseeing our compliance and audit departments. Missy is also a gifted instructor, providing documentation workshops for physicians, nurses and coders in MMR’s client hospitals.

Inarguably, Missy’s in-depth understanding of the subtleties of ED coding and compliance allows her to provide MMR's clients with valuable insight into their business operations. She diligently performs ongoing research to ensure our organization stays current in all coding, compliance and regulatory issues affecting the specialty of emergency medicine. In addition to contributing to the development of the coding Policy and Procedure Manual for TeamHealth, Missy assisted in the development of MMR’s Facility Assessment Criteria for our coding clients.

Missy’s professional background is vast and varied, including roles as nurse manager of a large metropolitan teaching facility, director of nursing operations for a large tertiary medical center, nurse manager of a flight program, and chairwoman of numerous hospital committees. Among the many notable achievements during her career are establishing a Pediatric Emergency Department in a large tertiary hospital and implementing a 24-hour salaried nursing unit at Baptist Medical Center which reduced overtime and improved RN recruitment and retention.

Missy is also an accomplished author with numerous publications to her credit. In addition to co-authoring a federal matching grant to teach ED and pre-hospital staff how to care for pediatric emergencies, she was a contributing author for the Manual of Pediatric Emergency Nursing and the Journal of Emergency Nursing. She also contributed to the Emergency Nursing Association’s Emergency Nursing Pediatric Core Course.

A licensed RN in the state of Florida, Missy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of North Florida. She also has an Associate’s Degree in Technical Nursing from the Florida Community College of Jacksonville. Known for her flexible, approachable management style and unparalleled expertise in coding and compliance issues, Missy Stimler is an invaluable asset to both MMR’s executive team and its clients.
